AOC Moulin-à-Vent | Beaujolais, France | 100% Gamay

Created in tribute to Pierre-Marie Chermette, the father of the winemaker, this Moulin-à-Vent reflects his generosity and dedication to both winemaking and vineyard cultivation. Sourced from 55-year-old Gamay vines growing on manganese-rich granite soils, the wine beautifully balances richness, freshness and structure.

Vineyard & Terroir

The grapes come from various granite soils rich in manganese, giving the wine its distinctive mineral character. The 55-year-old vines are sustainably farmed and HVE3 certified, hand-harvested and trained using traditional bush-vine (gobelet) pruning.

Winemaking

Made using the traditional semi-carbonic Beaujolais method, with whole bunches and a gentle daily pump-over. The grapes undergo 7–9 days of maceration in concrete tanks before spending six months aging in large oak foudres.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby in colour with vibrant purple highlights. The nose is fresh, spicy and mineral, showing redcurrant, ripe strawberry, blackberry and blackcurrant. On the palate, it is fleshy yet refined, with a round, velvety texture, excellent balance and a long, persistent finish.

Food Pairings

A versatile red that pairs beautifully with red meats, game and rich pâtés. Try it with venison, wild boar, hare stew, coq au vin, game terrines or thrush pâté. It also works wonderfully with rich cheeses such as Époisses and Munster.
